No, it didn’t catch the bird flu or get attacked by a giant inflatable wolf.

Instead, government officials claim they deflated the duck as part of scheduled maintenance, saying the duck simply “needs to freshen up.”

The report says insects leave a low environmental footprint and provide high-quality protein compared with meat and fish. Bonus: the nutritional value of red ants, small grasshoppers and some water beetles pack (gram-per-gram or ounce-per-ounce) enough protein to rank with lean ground beef, while having less fat per gram.

But are they tasty? The report noted that some caterpillars in southern Africa and weaver ant eggs in Southeast Asia are considered delicacies and command high prices. Yum?

A big part of this trend is coming from boy bands. Seriously.

A brother and sister went on a chartered fishing trip in the Caribbean – only to have the boat sink, leaving the two of them to swim for 14 hours before being rescued.

30-year-old Dan Suski and 39-year-old Kate Suski ended up going into the water eight miles from shore, in waves more than twice their size.

Wearing lifejackets, they ended up swimming for 14 hours, finally reaching a beach at midnight.

Even then, their adventure wasn’t over. They had to find fresh water to drink, and ended up eating bitter mangoes and green bananas for energy.

They were finally found by a farm worker the next morning who gave them crackers and water – and called the police to get them to a hospital.

They’re expected to make a full recovery – but may not go deep-sea fishing for a while.

This latest tragedy comes less than six months after a fire at a garment factory in a Dhaka suburb killed at least 110 people.

Once again the tragedy could have been avoided. Cracks were found in the building on Tuesday. However, one man rescued from the building said the factory owners told the workers on Wednesday morning “not to worry” and that “they said they had examined the crack.”

More than 1,000 people were injured when the building suddenly collapsed on Wednesday at about 9 a.m. local time.

Those who break the code could face possible fines for revealing swimwear, including two-piece bikinis for women and brief trunks for men.

The move follows complaints from local families who don’t like sharing their beaches with tourists showing too much skin.

According to the U.S. Geological Service, the 7.8 temblor struck at 5:44 a.m. ET. Officials say it’s the largest earthquake to hit Iran in 40 years, and it could be felt in India and around the Persian Gulf.

A 6.6 earthquake in 2003 flattened the Iranian city of Bam, killing 25,000.
