Joan Rivers Protests Costco Book Ban, Handcuffs Herself to Shopping Cart

Costco refused to sell Joan Rivers’s new book due to its lewd content, so she took the only logical course of action — and handcuffed herself to a shopping cart in protest. According to E Online, Rivers went to the Burbank, California branch of the warehouse chain yesterday to sell her books to pedestrians on her own and to vocalize her disappointment with the store. She even brought a megaphone along, screaming, “Costco should not be like Nazi Germany! Next thing, they’ll be burning the bible.”

Local police eventually escorted Rivers from the scene, but no one was arrested.
