How Much Caffeine Would It Take to Kill You?

Monster Energy is in big trouble because of a devastating wrongful death suit, and energy drinks in general are taking a beating in the media because of health concerns.
Doctors say emergency room visits related to energy drinks have recently soared 10-fold.
As a reaction to the wrongful death lawsuit, Popular Science looked into the question of “how much caffeine would it take to kill you?”
They found that it would take at least six gallons of McDonald’s coffee.
Popular Science notes that individuals react to caffeine differently – and those reactions are influenced in a big way by a number of other factors, including other health issues and other substances, such as alcohol and nicotine.
So while energy drinks probably aren’t the healthiest things in the world, they’re very far from being “deadly” on their own.
