Americans are watching the Olympics on TV and on their computers, and as a result, they’re streaming fewer movies and TV shows on Netflix.
The company says that streaming in the U.S. fell 25 percent “from normal level” on Sunday, according to a Procera Networks report. The drop was attributed solely to the London Olympics, which started on July 27th.
The drop in viewership was expected. In fact, last week Netflix warned in its earnings report that Olympic viewing will have “a negative impact” for the current quarter.
