After a smoke grenade, various weapons and body bags were found in his luggage, a man who flew from Japan to Los Angeles International Airport wearing a bulletproof vest and flame retardant clothing was arrested, officials said on Tuesday.

Yongda Huang Harris was stopped by officials while he was en route for Boston when airport security at LAX noticed his odd clothing and stopped him on Friday.

When his bags were searched, the items found included a gas mask, three leather-coated billy clubs, knives, a hatchet, bio-hazard suits, body bags and leg irons.

It’s unclear how the 28-year-old man was able to board a plane in Japan without raising suspicions.
