Merriam-Webster Dictionary Adds ‘F-Bomb,’ Oprah’s ‘Aha Moment’

The term “F-bomb” has finally been dropped into Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary along with about 100 other additions, it was announced Monday.

 

Other new additions include sexting, flexitarian (a semi-vegetarian diet), obesogenic (causing obesity), energy drink, man cave, brain cramp, bucket list and life coach. A few new additions are celebrity-related. “Aha moment” was inspired by Oprah Winfrey, while author Stephen King help spread “earworm,” used to describe when a song gets stuck in your head, in a 2009 column for Entertainment Weekly titled “The Trouble With Earworms.”
