Record-setting heat wave could break soon for millions

Relief is on the way. Much of the country’s been suffering through the sweltering temperatures of a record-setting heat wave, but the heat wave is expected to finally end soon.
National Weather Service forecaster Bruce Sullivan says, “Early next week and even this weekend we’ll see rain in Kansas and Nebraska and parts of Texas.”
The break in the heat wave is good news for some, including Rick Smith, owner of Smith and Sons Tuckpointing in St. Louis, Missouri, where temperatures have topped the century mark every day in July. Smith’s employees have adjusted their schedule from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. in an attempt to avoid the heat. “This is about the worst I’ve seen it” in his 28 years of business, Smith said.
