Young lifeguard is a hero after rescuing man and dog

17-year-old Jeremy Lessard of Ashburnham, Massachusetts was working as a lifeguard for a lake-side family reunion on Saturday.
One of the guests brought their pet dog, Kera, who jumped in the water, and just kept on swimming. She got about a half mile out, so Jeremy went to rescue her.
It was too far to swim, so he borrowed a canoe, and managed to pull Kera into the boat. She was scared and didn’t know him . . . so Jeremy got bitten TWICE on the hand during the rescue.
Then, Jeremy had to go BACK into the water, to rescue a 60-year-old man who’d jumped in from his own boat to help with the dog rescue . . . and started having trouble.
All three of them are going to be fine.
