Python Challenge results: 68 snakes caught in Florida competition

The results of the 2013 Python Challenge in Florida are in! According to NBC News, 68 snakes were caught during the month-long competition, which attracted 1600 registrants.
The $1,500 Grand Prizes for harvesting the most Burmese pythons went to Brian Barrows, who snatched up six pythons in the General Competition and Ruben Ramirez, who caught 18 in the Python Permit Holders Competition.
Roughly six other cash prizes were handed out for various titles including the longest python and the most-harvested. The event is held annually in Florida to raise awareness on the impact of the invasive species in the Sunshine State.
