The controversy surrounding the NFL’s replacement referees reached a boiling point Monday night when the refs seemingly gave the game to the Seattle Seahawks in their last minute 14-12 upset of the Green Bay Packers.
Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson threw up a Hail Mary pass that appeared to be intercepted by Green Bay’s M.D. Jennings, with Seattle’s Golden Tate getting an arm in the mix. One official signaled touchdown while another seemed to call it a touchback for Green Bay, meaning the pass was intercepted. Eventually the refs ruled it was a touchdown, giving the Seahawks the game.
After the controversial call, both teams left the field for nearly 10-minute delay before coming back out for the extra point.Article Source
