iPhone 5 Sells 5 Million, but Analysts Are Disappointed

More than 5 million iPhone 5s were sold in the first three days they were on sale last week, besting last year’s record set by the last iPhone, but some analysts are disappointed.
The problem stems from demand for the new phone exceeding the initial supply, which is causing delays from some online orders.
Brian White, an analyst at Topeka Capital Markets, said, “The number is lower than what people had expected.” His estimate had debut weekend sales to hit 6 million to 6.5 million units.
