Microsoft, NBC dissolve MSNBC.com joint venture

Microsoft is pulling entirely out of its 16-year relationship with NBC by selling its stake in the news channel’s website. The two firms made the announcement late Sunday night, and users who go to MSNBC.com are being redirected to NBCNews.com.

Microsoft relinquished its stake in the cable news network in 2005.
