Jailers accused of sending inmates on unsupervised beer runs

Trouble is brewing for two corrections officers in American Samoa − after they were accused of letting inmates leave the jail to go on beer runs.
The officers are being investigated after one of the inmates escaped.
According to reports, one inmate said he was allowed to leave the jail to buy beer for other inmates and also to pick up chips and cookies for a corrections officer.
The officers were charged with aiding the escape of a prisoner and permitting escape, among other charges. They are being held on $10,000 bail each.
