Man Admits Assaulting Wife After She Eats Juiciest Chicken Parts; Wife Charged

An argument over dinner took a “fowl” turn when a man in Zimbabwe attacked his wife … because she took the better parts of chicken for herself. But this will really get your feathers ruffled: The wife was the one who was found guilty and fined for the “offense.”

The husband said he assaulted his wife because he was upset when she served him chicken for dinner – but gave him the gizzards, wings and the one drumstick, while taking the breast meat and the other drumstick for herself.

But the wife didn’t have a leg to stand on. Apparently village tradition says that the best parts of the chicken must be reserved for the man of the house.

The husband took his wife to tribal court – where she was found guilty and fined one chicken for the offense.

The man threatened to divorce his wife if she ever served him less than prime pieces of meat ever again. The wife, apparently, was not having it. “How long shall I slaughter chickens and not taste the best portion?” she asked. Can’t argue with that …
