Fidel Castro Suffers Stroke

Retired Cuban dictator Fidel Castro reportedly suffered a stroke recently and is having trouble eating, drinking and recognizing people.

According to Venezuelan doctor Jose Marquina, the 86-year-old may be close to death. Marquina, who also claimed to have inside information on the health of Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez last year, says, “We’ll never again see [Castro] in public.”

Rumors about Castro’s failing health have been circulating for years. He was last seen in public in March, when Pope Benedict visited Cuba.
